Felt Obsession

I have a bit of an obsession with felt. I love its versatility, especially its ability to completely transform apparel. I've been playing around with adding felt appliques to kids clothing, but right now I'm just enjoying combining my felt obsession with my Etsy obsession. My latest favorite? Friendly Banter, a fun Etsy shop based in Houston.




I especially love this grey flower brooch and the little birds because they are similar to some new designs I'm working on for Urban Bliss.

Urban Design Inspirations 6.27.08

We've branded our entire little office with Urban Bliss greens + blues, and the colors have spilled over into our living quarters. I picked up these cool glasses at -- are you ready for this? -- the Dollar Store. The best part? Turns out they weren't $1 each, but $.50 each! A steal! They're just the right size, and I love the circles.

They remind me of our Jasmine calling cards, personal stationery and birth announcements

I ended up buying eight glasses. Now we have enough glasses for most brunches we host. Cheers!

Urban Design Inspirations We Love, #1

We are inspired by design of all kinds, every day. In a new feature, we'll be sharing with our readers our own personal design inspirations. There are so many incredibly fabulous modern urban designs out there. So many to feature, so little time!

Our first: this super cool kids' clothing tree from P'kolino. We love the color and shape, and being ultimate tree huggers (we do live in Portland, OR after all), we love that it's a modern, functional take on something organic. It could coordinate easily, we think, in almost any kids' decor. It certainly coordinates well with both of our kids' rooms!
